Large Volume Type-4 Tanks

Our type-4 pressure vessels are fabricated by filament winding a band of high-strength fibres over our seamless high-density polyethylene (HDPE) liner. The computer controlled filament winding process produces a high-strength but lightweight pressure vessel with a high level of consistency.

Our tanks are filament wound using either carbon fibre or high-strength fibreglass rovings. Carbon fiber is used for ultra light weight tanks; fibreglass for low cost tanks. Notably, fibreglass tanks provide for a high level of impact resistance. In addition, fibreglass gets stronger with colder temperatures.

Notably, our type-4 tanks will not rupture, even if penetrated by a bullet. The required helical windings eliminate the potential of crack propagation and therefore rupture.

To safely transport chilled gas as P-LNG, our 100-Bar tanks are made low-temperature compatible. This unique feature is a result of our liner design and proprietary fabrication process.

To transport ethane, ethylene, or CO2, the same robust liner is used to make our 50-Bar tanks. Lower pressure tanks will be fabricated for the safe transport of propane, methanol, and ammonia.
